On Nov. 8, 2018, BMTS held a global strategy conference in Shanghai, announcing the global management team of BMTS and the future global growth strategy. As a world-renowned supplier of turbochargers for commercial and passenger vehicles, BMTS combines the DNA of the German automotive industry with the enterprising spirit of China. BMTS will continue to be a leader in the next generation of turbocharging technology and continue to provide high-quality products to the market.
BMTS’s three global strategies include:
1. Continue to increase investment in R&D, establish China Technology Center in Beijing, and achieve strategic cooperation with Turbocharger Research Laboratory of Tsinghua University.
Two, intensify vertical integration supply chain and build turbocharger fittings factory in Shandong.
Three, develop and optimize the global layout, will choose new sites in China and Eastern Europe, closer to customers.
BMTS Technology (BMTS) is the technical leader of the global turbocharging system, headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany. The company’s predecessor was jointly funded by the German BOSCH group and the Muller group. Over the past decade, BMTS has gained the trust of Volkswagen, General Motors, BMW and other global vehicle manufacturers with its first-class R&D capability, advanced production technology and mature quality management system.
Continue to increase technology investment, BMTS set up China Technology Center in Beijing
Mr. Volker Brielmann, BMTS Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing, said: “The global turbocharger market will continue to grow steadily, with an annual growth rate of 6%. It is estimated that in 2022, the demand for the turbocharger market will exceed 60 million units. Although Europe is still an important market for turbochargers, we expect that China will have a rapid growth of turbochargers between 2017 and 2024, with an annual compound growth rate of about 10%.
For the automotive industry, what we can see is the real products and the fierce battle in the market; what we can not see is the driving force behind the development and high-input technology research and development. At present, BMTS has more than 600 technology patents, and this number is still growing. In order to maintain the leading edge of turbocharging technology and further seize the Chinese market, BMTS established the China Technology Center in Beijing, and cooperated strategically with the Turbocharging Research Laboratory of Tsinghua University, combining with the deep academic accumulation of Tsinghua University. With BMTS’s market-oriented R&D and innovation capability, it will become a model of close integration of production, learning and research, mutual promotion and common development.
Previously, variable cross-section turbocharger (VTG) has been widely used in turbochargers. The FNT (floating variable interface turbocharger) independently developed by BMTS has greatly improved VTG. J. RG Jennes, vice president and chief technical officer of BMTS R&D, explained in detail the development principle and advantages of FNT. Compared with traditional turbochargers, FNT can reduce the clearance of guide vanes, make the turbocharger more efficient, and improve its life and effectively alleviate the problem of turbocharger hysteresis. For drivers, FNT turbocharger technology can significantly reduce fuel consumption and improve driving pleasure. ,
Intensify vertical integration supply chain, and build two spare parts factories in Shandong, China.
Starting this year, the most stringent emission standard in history, “National Sixth” standard has been implemented in various places. Turbocharger technology is generally regarded as a more economical and effective “energy saving and emission reduction” technology. Turbocharger carrying rate in the automobile market is increasing year by year, and the competition in the turbocharger market is becoming more and more fierce. Whether the upstream and downstream supply chains can be well integrated becomes the key to whether the automobile spare parts industry can seize the market.
A seemingly small turbocharger, but there are dozens of precision components, including electronic actuators, axial bearings, radial bearings, pressure wheels, pressure hulls, intermediate shells, variable turbine cross-section, turbine, volute, etc., through a number of precision assembly process. Mr. Volker Brielmann, vice president of global sales and marketing of BMTS, said that turbocharger shell, the most critical precision component, which accounts for more than 30% of the cost of turbocharger, had been manufactured in Shandong factories. BMTS integrates the supply chain in depth. From metal raw materials to smelting, processing and assembly, the supply chain of BMTS has been fully integrated. The advantage of the whole industry chain surpasses any competitor in the world.
Mr. Volker Brielmann, President of Global Sales and Marketing of BMTS, introduced that in order to be close to our customers, BMTS has made great efforts to optimize the layout of its factories. Among them, Stuttgart, Germany, is the headquarters and R&D center of the enterprise, responsible for overall strategy, technology development, prototype production, etc. while Breschech, Germany, is responsible for the production of variable cross-section core group. “Parts and Turbine Shaft Assembly”; Austria’s St. Michel factory is responsible for the finishing of turbocharger components and final assembly of turbocharger; China’s Shanghai factory is responsible for the development, matching and assembly of turbocharger systems; Shandong factory is responsible for the casting and processing of turbocharger shells, and has established sales and response in Detroit, USA. The office you use. The Mexico plant will be put into operation in June next year, and new factories will be selected in China and Eastern Europe.
As a global technology leader in turbocharging, BMTS has established production bases in Europe, Asia and North America, and is continuing to expand. BMTS has more than 600 patents, and we believe that “technology makes the world cleaner” and will increase investment in R&D to maintain a leading position in the next generation of turbocharging technology.
